athletics department has announced its weekly award winners, naming junior runner Anna Raymond (Owego
, N.Y.) and senior forward Nick DeVito
(Averill
Park, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 3.
Raymond, who paced the Mustang women's cross country pack to a seventh overall team finish, crossed the 6K championship run finish line in 27:29.7, earning a 12
th individual place finish and qualifying as a second team all-conference selection.
The junior has been a consistent top competitor for the Mustangs and finished with a personal best time at the championship event.
DeVito started his senior season with a six-point weekend, netting a combined three goals and three assists in the 2-0 sweep of Fredonia.
On Friday, the senior tied the game at 2 in the second period with his shorthanded score, adding three assists, including on the game winning tally in extra time.
He followed Saturday with two additional scores, the first in the second period, followed by the game winner midway through the third off the break away.
The weekend sweep was the first time in NCAA history for the Mustangs to open with back-to-back SUNYAC wins.
