Morrisville State men unable to overcome halftime deficit, fall on road to Cobleskill 76-66

COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's basketball team trailed by 14 at the half, a deficit that proved too much to overcome in the second half, as they dropped a 76-66 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) decision to host SUNY Cobleskill in Cobleskill.

The loss drops Morrisville State to 5-11 overall, 2-7 in conference action.

Freshman guard Trent Ward (Auburn, N.Y.) led the Mustang efforts with 20 points on the night, adding three assists to his tallies, while teammate Qwuhail Barlow (Cortland, N.Y.) added 19 points in a near perfect effort in shooting from the floor.

Morrisville State held the edge on the boards 34-31, with Ibrahima Toure (Brooklyn, N.Y.) controlling the glass by snagging a high 11 on the night.

The Mustangs shot 48.9% from the floor hitting 23-of-47 shots, but were forced to commit 25 turnovers which were costly to the visitors as Cobleskill collected an additional 27 points off Morrisville State miscues.

Morrisville State returns to the court Saturday, traveling to Keuka College.
