MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville Mustangs have secured the No. 6 seed in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Basketball Tournament after finishing the regular season 9-16 overall and 8-10 in conference play.

Morrisville battled through a competitive conference schedule to earn its spot in the postseason, positioning themselves among the league's top six teams. The Mustangs' eight conference victories proved pivotal in clinching the playoff berth and extending their season into tournament play. Morrisville found their rhythm in conference play to secure their postseason berth. They played many tightly contested games and were able to pick up crucial wins including a win on the road against No. 2 seed Oneonta.

As the No. 6 seed, Morrisville will travel to face No. 3 seed Oswego State Lakers in first round action. The Mustangs and the Lakers have met twice this season resulting in two losses for the Mustangs. In their first matchup the Mustangs struggled early in the first half, giving up 53 points to the Lakers on 57% shooting. Morrisville kept the score even in the second half but would ultimately fall 91-69.

Their second matchup was much closer as the game finished in overtime. The game was even throughout as Morrisville dominated in transition and in the paint, while Oswego shot efficiently on the perimeter. Jalyn Moorehead (Rochester, N.Y.) hit a game-tying three to send the game to overtime, but the Mustangs would come up short getting outscored 15-7 in extra play.

• $7 for children ages 5-12
• 4 and under get in for free
• SUNYAC students with ID get in for free
• Ticket window open at least one hour before game time
