Morrisville Drops Last Game of Regular Season to Cortland

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville hosted the Red Dragons of Cortland Saturday afternoon where they were unable to overcome the first half deficit where they would lose 90-60.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • After Morrisville kept it close in the opening minutes, the Red Dragons erupted midway through the first half with a decisive run fueled by transition buckets and hot shooting from beyond the arc.
  • Leading 45-19 at the break, Cortland carried its momentum into the second half.
  • Back-to-back three-pointers in the opening minutes pushed the lead past 30, and the Red Dragons continued to capitalize on Morrisville miscues.
  • Morrisville found some rhythm midway through the second half behind strong inside play and improved ball movement, trimming the deficit briefly, but the early hole proved too large to overcome.
  • With the win, the Red Dragons controlled the tempo from start to finish, showcasing depth and defensive pressure in the 90-60 victory.
  • Morrisville was led in scoring by Bruce Wingate (Liverpool, N.Y.) who had 13 points while grabbing six rebounds.
  • Kaelem Haskins (Liverpool, N.Y.) chipped in 10 points while Jacob Works (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Sakhi Shury-Muse (Brooklyn, N.Y.) both scored nine points.
  • The Red Dragons were led by Kendall Arcuri who scored 18 points while grabbing seven rebounds.
  • Cortland had three other double-digit scorers while Gaige Armbrewster led the game in assists with five.
