Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Mustang women's soccer team (8-4, 5-4 NEAC) beat non-conference SUNY Canton, 2-1 Saturday afternoon on the road.
After a scoreless first half, the Mustangs put the first point on the scoreboard when Krista Baxter (Downsville, N.Y.) found the net from Paris Matteo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) on a through ball from the left side, less than two minutes into the second half. In the 59th minute, Morrisville extended its lead to 2-0 when Courtney Purcell (Fabius, N.Y.) passed up the left side and found Jasmine Wynter (Nedrow, N.Y.) who finished lower left.
SUNY Canton scored in the 86th minute, but it wasn't enough to close the lead.
Angela Marriot (Peekskill, N.Y) was a force in the net, finishing with 9 saves on the day.
The Mustangs will travel to Boston to play Fisher, on Monday, October 13th.
