MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly Spry Player of the Week awards, naming SUNY Morrisville's
Isabella Eskierka (Amery, Wisc.) and
Kylie Hutchinson (Liberty Hill, Texas) the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for action ending September 13.
Eskierka led Morrisville in a 3-0 week at the Muhlenberg Buttermaker tournament, collecting 82 total points across three matches.
She began the weekend with 25 kills in the match win over Hood, averaging 6.25 kills per set, while adding four assisted blocks and eight digs to her totals. Eskierka followed with a match high 28 kills against Muhlenberg in the 3-2 match win, hitting .429 in the match, while also posting nine digs and two service aces.
She wrapped up the weekend with 21 kills in the match win over John Jay, defensively adding two blocks and 12 digs. Across the week, Eskierka hit .333 from the floor, averaged 2.07 digs per set and 5.9 points per set.
Hutchinson assisted Morrisville's defensive efforts as libero at the Buttermaker Tournament across the weekend at Muhlenberg.
The junior collected 66 total digs, an average of 4.71 per set, while also posting 22 assists and two service aces.
She had a single match best 25 in the win over Hood - an average 0f 6.25 per set, before posting 18 against Muhlenberg in the 3-2 match victory and another 23 against John Jay.
