MILL SPRING, N.C. – SUNY Morrisville junior western rider,
Marissa Bartholomew (Martville, N.Y.) got a taste of championship competition over the weekend, representing the Mustangs western equestrian team in the individual open horsemanship class of the 2026 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships.
The event, held at the Tryon International Park in Mill Spring, North Carolina, Bartholomew placed 12
th overall among all riders competing in the class.
Bartholomew earned a slot on the national stage after claiming the Regional Championship title in the same class and finishing third overall at the IHSA Western Semi-Finals hosted at the University of Findlay in March.
