MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville western riders
Bryn Zionkowski (Wyalusing, Pa.) and
Marissa Bartholomew (Martville, N.Y.) will see their competition season continue, as each qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Semifinals later this month.
Bartholomew claimed the 2026 regional championship title in open horsemanship Sunday, also finishing third overall in the high point rider competition.
Zionkowski will also continue her riding season after claiming the reserve title for the high point rider competition, as well as finishing as reserve champion in the reining class.
Morrisville had two additional riders compete in the regional championships, including
Hannah Gill (Liberty, N.Y.) who finished sixth in the rookie horsemanship class and
Taylor Wooddell (Granville, N.Y.) eighth in the rookie class.
The IHSA National Semi's will be hosted March 21-22 at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. The top four individuals from each class will advance to the IHSA National Finals scheduled in May.
