MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) selected its Academic All-District Teams for Division III softball, naming from SUNY Morrisville to the 2026 team.
The Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Junior
Sara Brefka (East Syracuse, N.Y.) alongside seniors
Kendall Darling (Lacona, N.Y.),
Piper Kaylor (Montgomery, N.Y.) and
Callie Lafontaine (Chaumont, N.Y.) earned recognition for a second straight season.
To be eligible for consideration for Academic All-District, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and participate in a minimum of 90% of the season contests or started in at least 66% of scheduled games.
Darling and Kaylor were recognized as pitchers, who must have made at least 17 appearances on the mound or pitched a total of 35 innings.
Brefka appeared in all 35 games for Morrisville, batting a .337 across the season as she collected 29 hits and 18 runs, while posting eight RBI's. In the field, the junior had 48 put outs and six assists.
Darling made 24 appearances on the mound throughout the season, throwing a total 68.1 innings and posting 25 strikeouts. At the plate the senior collected a hit and RBI.
Kaylor appeared 23 times on the mound, starting 17 games while throwing a total 71.0 innings. Across the seasons he collected 40 strikeouts, collecting eight total hits in her 34 appearances at the plate, while registering four doubles and two RBI's.
Lafontaine led Morrisville with 32 hits across the season, starting 34 of 35 games, while posting a .333 batting average. At the plate the centerfielder registered nine doubles and two triples, while batting in 15 and scoring 24 times. In the field she collected 74 put outs and five assists.
"It has made my job as a coach easy to have these young women so dedicated to their pursuits academically and athletically," head coach
Samantha Guillaume said.
"They do a great job of balancing both and putting a lot of time and effort into excelling on and off the field. This is a recognition well deserved."
