MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) selected its Academic All-District Teams for softball Tuesday, naming five from SUNY Morrisville to the 2024-25 list.
The Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Emery Sawitzki (Amsterdam, N.Y.),
Callie Lafontaine (Chaumont, N.Y.),
Piper Kaylor (Montgomery, N.Y.),
Kendall Darling (Lacona, N.Y.) and
Sara Brefka (East Syracuse, N.Y.) were all recipients of the academic accolade.
"I am proud of the balance our student-athletes find when it comes to excelling academically and athletically," head coach
Samantha Guillaume said.
"Their work ethic confirms their excellence on and off the field of play, and I am elated they were recognized for their dedication to overall success as a student-athlete."
To be considered for the CSC Academic All-District award, student-athletes must at least be a sophomore athletically and academically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or have started in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched a total of 35 innings.
