MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville Director of Athletics, Matt Grawrock, has announced the hiring of Vic Goeller as the head women's lacrosse coach for the Mustangs entering the spring 2026 season.
"We are incredibly excited for Vic to join our department as our new women's lacrosse coach," Grawrock said.
"Early on in the search process, it became apparent that Vic was what we were looking for in our next head coach. He's had success wherever he's gone. He's done an amazing job in building programs and made the programs he's been a part of better.
"During his time on campus, it became obvious to everyone that he invests so much of his energy into helping his players succeed, and that he had a plan to help our program find success in the SUNYAC. I believe he will teach our student-athletes to be competitive and what it takes to be successful on the field and off of it.
"You can tell the passion he has to coach and to help others succeed. I am excited for him to work with our team, and start to build a program that will fight with the best teams in the conference."
Goeller comes to Morrisville from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, where he served as the inaugural head coach of the women's lacrosse program. Pitt-Bradford operated as a club program during the 2024-25 season, transitioning to varsity competition in the spring 2026.
Prior to his stint at Bradford, Goeller served as head coach for three seasons with the Wells College Express, guiding the program to a 21-20 collective record. His most successful season on the sidelines with Wells came during the 2024 season where he guided the Express to a 16-1 overall record, claiming the AMCC regular season and tournament championship titles, while earning AMCC Co-Coach of the Year honors.
That same season, his squad led all of Division III in five different statistical categories (defense, draw control percentage, save percentage, shots per game and scoring margin) and was ranked in the top 10 in four additional areas.
Goeller has a wealth of coaching experience to his backing, having served as head coach in a variety of secondary and collegiate institutions across a 25-year coaching career. A 15-time Coach of the Year honoree, Goeller has had several earn post-season recognition, including AMCC Offensive and Newcomer of the Year awards, alongside numerous All-Conference recipients.
"I'm excited to join the athletic staff at SUNY Morrisville," Goeller said. "I believe the women's lacrosse program has amazing potential and I can't wait to get started."
"I believe Vic has the long-term vision and drive it will take to help us take the next steps as a program. I'm looking forward to seeing our team take the field in the spring with him on our sideline," Grawrock said.
