MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Empire 8 Conference office has announced its opening week award winners in football, naming SUNY Morrisville's defensive back, Zavion Daniels (West Hempstead, N.Y.) the Co-Defensive Player of the Week for action ending September 6.
 
Daniels assisted the Mustangs to a 33-30 season opening win over Kean University Saturday, collecting six total tackles and two interceptions. In all, the junior knocked down three passes.
 
Daniels collected his second interception of the day with 1:33 remaining in the contest to seal the win for Morrisville.
