MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville Athletics Department has announced its academic success for the spring 2025 semester, naming 140 student-athletes to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the academic term.
To be named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have achieved a 3.30 grade point average or better (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the academic term.
Across the department, Mustang student-athletes posted a 3.02 collective grade point average.
In all, 79 student-athletes achieved a 3.5 or better semester average, with another 14 registering a perfect 4.0 across the term.
"I'm incredibly happy with the accomplishments of our student-athletes," Director of Athletics Matt Grawrock said.
"They are the tip of the iceberg of an athletic department that had one of the best overall academic performances in many years.
"The time to be excellent in the classroom is evident, and it shows that these student-athletes truly value the opportunity to be a Morrisville student. I have always believed that we can have great students who are also great athletes.
"This list shows that we're making strides to the best in everything we do. The student-athletes on this list represent what it means to be a Morrisville Mustang. They're working to excel in every facet of their lives.
"I'm so grateful for the coaches that have a laser focus on helping the members of their teams place an emphasis on success in the classroom. I'm grateful for the resources and auxiliary staff who take the time to help us be great.
"This is a great sign that we're moving in the right direction, and that our student-athletes lead the way for Morrisville."
Twelve of the Mustangs teams recorded a 3.0 or better team grade point average for the spring term, led by men's ice hockey with a 3.45 overall team GPA.
Women's ice hockey followed with a 3.42 semester mark, and western equestrian with a 3.33, while softball posted a team 3.32 GPA.
