MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville athletics department has announced its weekly award winners, naming
Sydney Canham (Rochester, N.Y.) and
Chad Lowe (Auburn, N.Y.) the Mustangs of the Week for action ending November 23.
Canham backstopped the women's ice hockey team to a 3-0 win over Potsdam in SUNAYC play on Saturday, recording 18 saves to earn the shut out victory on the Mustangs home ice.
Eight of her game total 18 came in the third period to preserve the win.
Lowe led the men's hockey team to a 1-1 record across the weekends SUNYAC action, recording 103 total saves in 117 minutes of action in goal.
The freshman registered 47 saves and a .979 save effort in the 2-1 win over Plattsburgh Friday night, before backstopping 56 in a 3-2 loss with a .949 save percentage against Skidmore Saturday.
Across the weekend, Lowe posted a .963 save percentage in net.
