MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville volleyball program will toss up the first serve of the 2022 season Friday, September 2
nd as they play host to a two-day tourney to open the season slate full of top competition.
The Mustangs will see opponents from a variety of Division III leagues, including the SUNYAC, Liberty, NJAC and NAC, alongside competition from the Empire 8, to prepare the squad for another run at the United East championship tournament title.
Morrisville will have two out of the gates on their home court on the 2
nd, hosting Russel l Sage College and Oswego on opening night, before hosting Misericordia and Rowan University on the second day of the tournament action on the 3
rd.
SUNY Poly comes to town on the 7
th for a cross-town affair before Morrisville heads to Skidmore College for three-game tournament spread beginning with Union on Sept. 9. The Mustangs will meet Oneonta and host Skidmore on the 10
th.
For a second straight weekend the Mustangs will head on the road to Hartwick College for tourney play against Alfred University on the 16
th, meeting host Hartwick on the 17 and William Smith College in the afternoon match.
Morrisville will head down Route 20 to meet rival Cazenovia on the 21
st, before heading to Alfred State for a tri-match on the 24
th with Lycoming and the host Pioneers.
Morrisville welcomes nearby Hamilton College to their home court on the 28
th in a night battle, and on the 30
th will head down the interstate to RIT as they meet DeSales University in the opening round of the RIT tourney.
October's action will open with a match against RIT on the 1
st in Rochester, followed by a set battle with Bard that afternoon.
A single outing at Oneonta on the 5
th will carry the Mustangs into United East play, as they host Penn St. Berks on the 8
th, followed by Harrisburg to complete the tri-match that afternoon.
Another cross-town bout with Poly on the 11
th in Utica will guide the Mustangs into a rematch of last year's United East championship final with Gallaudet at Lancaster Bible College on the 15
th, also facing the host Chargers in the second of the afternoon's lineup.
On the 22
nd, Morrisville will head to Wells for United East tri-match action against the Express and Penn College, before returning home for senior night play against Cazenovia on the 26
th.
A final road trip for United East play will see the Mustangs hitting the court against St. Mary's College on the 29
th, followed by an afternoon match against Penn St. Abington in the season finale.
Preseason training is set to begin in mid-August. Complete schedule information can be found on the
