Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Seven different Morrisville State players collected goals Wednesday afternoon as the Mustangs picked up a convincing 17-2 victory over visiting SUNY Cobleskill on Drake Field in Morrisville in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play.
The win is the second straight for the Mustangs, who improve to 2-0 in conference action, 5-2 overall on the season. Cobleskill drops to 0-2 in NEAC play, 2-6 on the year.
Senior Louie Geswaldo (Lafayette, N.Y.) along with freshmen Nick Geswaldo (Lafayette, N.Y.) and Logan Peters (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) each posted hat tricks on the day behind their three scores apiece.
Teammates John Sherlock (Tully, N.Y.), Eliud Evans (Culver City, Calif.), Adam Sawitsky (Pine Bush, N.Y.) and Richie Fischer (Rochester, N.Y.) each added two.
Louie Geswaldo and Sherlock added two assists to their tallies on the day.
Senior Christopher Fiore (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded the win between the pipes, turning away eight in three quarters before being replaced by Dan Sherlock (Tully, N.Y.) for the fourth and final frame. Sherlock registered two saves.
Morrisville State dominated the visitors in every facet of the game, as they out shot Cobleskill 48-18, won the ground ball battle 38-24, won faceoffs 15-8, and forced 22 opponent miscues.
The Mustangs broke out to a 5-1 lead after the first, and added three additional scores in the second to carry an 8-2 advantage into the halftime period, before rolling to the win with a seven goal third quarter.
Cobleskill keeper John Montainiz turned away 19 in the loss.
Morrisville State returns to the field Friday, hosting Wells College at 4:30 on Drake Field in Morrisville.
