Box Score 2 MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - Crosstown rival Cazenovia College put a damper on Senior Day for the Mustangs and senior Bethany Lewis (South Otselic, N.Y.) by winning both ends of a double header to close the book on the Morrisville State 2015 season.
The first game started out with a bang when the Mustangs jumped on the Wildcats for two runs in the first inning. Cazenovia, however, went on to score ten unanswered runs over the next five innings for the victory. Cazenovia pitcher pitched a complete game giving up two unearned runs while striking out four to pick up the win. For the Mustangs, Allison McGuire (Gilboa, N.Y.) went 2 for 3 at the plate with two singles.
In the second game the Mustangs raced out to an early six run lead before Cazenovia plated eleven runs over the next two innings to take the 11-6 advantage. The big blow came in the third inning where the Wildcats used four singles and a triple to score seven runs and put the game out of reach for Morrisville State. Kelsey Schuette picked up the complete game win for Cazenovia pitching all seven innings. Brianna Martin (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Liz Miller (East Greenbush, N.Y.), Holly Gamlen (Cazenovia, N.Y.), Jessica Carroll (Morrisville, N.Y.) and Brittany Keator (Roxbury, N.Y.) registered two hits a piece in the loss for the Mustangs.
