Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The game that started on April 2nd was finally put to bed between Cazenovia College and Morrisville State, picking up where they left off with the Mustangs trailing the Wildcats 5-3 to start the second inning. Paula Conklin (Sparrowbush, N.Y.) got things going with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Erika Kenney (Duanesburg, N.Y.) to make the score 5-4. Morrisville then tied the score in the fourth inning on a RBI single from Beth Marr (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) scoring Holly Gamlen (Cazenovia, N.Y.).
With the score tied in the fifth, the Mustangs exploded for three runs, two off a
Heather Weinstein (Long Beach, N.Y.) single, to take an 8-5 advantage. Cazenovia would not go down quietly and rallied to score five runs with two outs in the sixth to take the 10-8 lead. Kelsey Schuette started off the Caz rally with a two run home run to dead center and pitched the last three innings to pick up her fifth win of the season for the Wildcats. Weinstein gets saddled with the losswhile pitching a complete game, punching out five.
Morrisville State returns to the field for double-header action Tuesday, April 27th against Cazenovia once again with the first game slated to start at 4pm. Tomorrow's game is also Mustang Senior Day for the softball program.
