Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – Visiting Morrisville State College men's basketball dropped a 89-65 road decision to host Geneseo Tuesday night, to head into the break with a 3-2 overall record.
Qwuhail Barlow (Cortland, N.Y.) led the Morrisville State efforts with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor while Trent Ward (Auburn, N.Y.) contributed 13 points. Jordan Hoose (Hudson, N.Y.) led the Mustangs on the glass, snagging a team high nine.
The Mustangs hung with Geneseo until seven minutes remaining in the first half, when the Knights used a 12-0 run to break the game open to a 10 point lead in favor of the hosts with 5:48 to go in the first half.
After 5-2 spurt by Morrisville State to cut the lead to seven, Geneseo closed out the half with a 12-2 run to take the 57-40 lead into the break.
Geneseo put the game out of reach in the second half, increasing their lead to as many as 29 late in the game.
The Knights capitalized on Morrisville State miscues, posting 20 points on 16 Mustang turnovers, while outscoring the visitors in the paint 44-34.
Morrisville State returns to the floor Monday, traveling to Alfred State College for a non-conference match up before opening North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play on the road at Wells College.
