UNION, N.J. – Visiting SUNY Morrisville football scored the lone touchdown of the fourth quarter Saturday afternoon, edging host Kean University, as they claimed the 33-30 victory in the 2026 opener on the road in Union, New Jersey.

• Visiting SUNY Morrisville football avenged last year's loss to the host Kean Cougars Saturday afternoon in Union, New Jersey, posting the final score of the contest in the final two minutes to capture the season opening win with a 33-30 victory.
• Morrisville trailed 26-30 with 5:22 to go in the fourth before a muffed punt by Kean gave the Mustangs possession of the ball at midfield.
• The Mustangs put together short strikes to move the ball to the Kean 33, but faced a fourth and eight situation on the drive following an incomplete pass.
• Quarterback Logan Watson (Lowville, N.Y.) found a hole on the right side for a 13-yard gain, giving the Mustangs the first down at the Kean 20.
• Back to back carries by senior Isaac Sylvain (Schenectady, N.Y.) moved the ball to the 11-yard line, and following a pass interference penalty, positioned the Mustangs on the two-yard line.

• On the first play of the responding Kean drive attempt, Zavion Daniels (West Hempstead, N.Y.) stepped in front of the Ty Kline pass at the 42, downing the ball and returning possession to the visitors with just over 1:30 to go in the contest and sealing the opening win.
• Watson finished the contest with 280-yards passing, connecting for two touchdowns, including a 78-yard scoring strike to Mason Ondreyko (Wallkill, N.Y.) in the second quarter.
• Watson went 14-for-27 on the day, connecting with Ondreyko twice, and Chaunsey Gilbert (Rochester, N.Y.) once on an 82-yard pass.
• Sylvain led the Mustang ball carriers with 54 net yards on 18 carries.
• Israel Baker (Troy, N.Y.) led the defensive unit with seven tackles, Daniels adding six to go along with two interceptions.
• Brad Burke (Ilion, N.Y.) forced two fumbles to contribute to the turnover chaos for the Cougars, also registering a sack for a loss of eight yards.
• Kean's Ty Kline went 18-for-30 on the day for 241 yards and three touchdown scores, gaining another 86 net yards on the ground across 13 carries.
• Aly Marzouk led the receiving unit with 67 yards and two touchdowns.
• Noah Mammeri had nine tackles to lead Kean's defensive unit, Khyron Hill adding another six.

• Watson connected with Ondreyko for a 78-yard touchdown to give the Mustangs the lead, but Kean quickly countered with a 28-yard passing strike to regain the one-point advantage.
• Morrisville added another to their totals in the quarter, a 24-yard scoring pass play from Watson to Larry German (Newburgh, N.Y.), but Kean countered to claim the 21-20 lead at the break.
• Midway through the third Kean muffed a punt on their own two-yard line that was recovered by the Mustangs Dom Dorman (Gloversville, N.Y.) and Watson followed with a short rush left for the touchdown, bringing Morrisville within two following a score by Kean on their opening drive of the frame.
• A safety gave the hosts the four-point lead after three quarters of play, but it was the Mustangs who were able to put the lone points on the quarter on the board, capturing the comeback victory to open the season.
