Morrisville Dominates Keuka, Improves to 3-1 on Season

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville men's lacrosse team used a dominant offensive performance and a strong start to cruise past Keuka College, 23-4, Wednesday evening.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • The Mustangs wasted little time setting the tone as they opened the game with two quick goals from Noah Taylor (East Syracuse, N.Y.) within the first two minutes of action.
  • Keuka responded with a goal just a minute later, but Morrisville quickly regained control as Taylor completed a first-period hat trick before Kyan Dohn (East Brunswick, N.J.) added back-to-back goals to extend the lead
  • Taylor continued his dominant opening period with another tally before Dean Mohammed (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) scored in the closing seconds, giving the Mustangs a commanding 7-1 lead after the first quarter.
  • Morrisville continued to build momentum in the second as Chris Stancarone (Levittown, N.Y.) opened the scoring before Mohammed added his second goal of the evening.
  • Taylor added two more goals in the period while Dohn found the back of the net off a feed from Aidan Tornabene (Liverpool, N.Y.), helping Morrisville head into halftime with a 13-1 advantage.
  • The Mustangs offense remained relentless in the third period, opening the half with goals from John Blair (Honeoye, N.Y.), Daniel Squires (Aquebogue, N.Y.) and Tornabene to continue their run.
  • Dohn and Mohammed each added additional tallies during the stretch while Jason Tedeschi (Manlius, N.Y.) and Owen Smith (Whitney Point, N.Y) also scored as Morrisville built a 21-1 lead heading into the final period.
  • The Mustangs slowed down in the fourth, getting outscored 3-2, after the Wolves capitalized on two man-up opportunities, but Morrisville still secured the 23-4 victory to improve to 3-1 on the season.
  • Taylor led the contest with seven goals and three assists, followed by Dohn who finished with four goals and one assist.
  • Mohammed tallied four goals while eight other Mustangs also found the back of the net in the win.
  • Five different Mustangs saw time in goal for Morrisville, with Damien Warrior (Gowanda, N.Y.) earning his first career victory after recording four saves in 30 minutes of action.
  • Keuka was led by Jaxson Tucker in goal, who accumulated 20 saves on 43 shots, while Harrison Root scored all four goals offensively.

  • The Mustangs will head to Penn College this upcoming Saturday, where they will take on the Wildcats, in a 1 PM faceoff.
