MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville athletics department has announced its weekly award winners, naming sophomore Siyel Bowman (Bronx, N.Y.) and freshman Chad Lowe (Auburn, N.Y.) the Mustangs of the Week for action ending February 15.
Bowman placed fourth in the 400-meter run Saturday at the Utica University Fast Trax invitational, among the field of 23. Bowman's time of 50.95 seconds established a new Mustang record in the indoor track race, and a career best time for the sophomore in just his second season of collegiate competition.
Lowe, goaltender for men's hockey, put together a career best effort against nationally ranked no. 1 Hobart on Friday night, setting a new single game record mark for saves in a contest. The freshman turned aside 26 saves in the first and third periods enroute to a game total 76 come final buzzer at the ice rink.
SUNY Morrisville's curricula are enriched with applied learning and pave the way for opportunity at the Morrisville and Norwich campuses. The college is positioning itself to offer expanded graduate offerings, workforce programming and microcredentials.
