MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's ice hockey team closed out the January schedule Saturday night on their home ice with a 6-0 loss to visiting Plattsburgh State in SUNYAC action in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Visiting Plattsburgh State avenged an early season loss Saturday night to the Mustangs as host SUNY Morrisville allowed two goals in each period of play in the 6-0 league loss on their home ice in Morrisville.
• The Cardinals posted two late in the first period to claim the 2-0 lead after one, adding two more down the stretch in the second, opening the lead to four just 40 minutes in.
• An unassisted tally 6:37 into the third gave Plattsburgh the five goal advantage, before closing out all scoring in the 17^th minute with their sixth for the night.
• Senior netminder Grant Linville (Edmond, Okla.) registered the loss in net, despite a 38 save effort that saw 18 turned aside in the second period.
• Beau Lane notched the win for the Cardinals, collecting 21 saves for the shut out in 56 minutes between the pipes.

• Morrisville will have their final road trip of the season next weekend as they head north to Potsdam and Canton for two league matches before returning home for a three game stretch that includes top ranked Hobart on the 13^th.
