POTSDAM, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's basketball team put a season high point total on the board Saturday afternoon as they toppled the host SUNY Potsdam Bears by a 110-81 final score in an all around team effort in Potsdam.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• The SUNY Morrisville men's basketball team pulled their league record even at 4-4 Saturday afternoon as they put up a season high point total in the 110-81 defeat of host SUNY Potsdam in Potsdam.
• Morrisville, who had six net double-figures on the afternoon, shot 55.4% from the floor across the contest, including a 12-for-25 effort from long range (48%), while also sinking 26-of-33 total attempts from the free throw line.
• The Mustangs took advantage of their quick transition and Potsdam miscues, collecting 36 points on the fast break and 31 off turnovers.
• Both teams played even through the opening 10 minutes of the contest before a layup from Jacob Works (Liverpool, N.Y.) ignited a 12-2 spurt over two minutes to open the Mustangs lead to 16 with 7:55 to go in the opening half.
• Just over a minute later, Tony Borges (Auburn, N.Y.) nailed one from long range to fuel the Mustangs to a 17-8 run to close out the first half, as they headed into the locker room with a 60-35 advantage.
• Morrisville continued their offensive momentum in the second half, increasing their lead to as many as 34 and putting the game out of reach for a potential Bear comeback attempt.
• Borges led the Mustang leaderboard with 18 points, hitting a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc with 16 more points coming off the shooting efforts of Works, who also added five rebounds.
• Tyler Cooper (Sterling, N.Y.) had a near perfect shooting performance off the bench for Morrisville, hitting 5-of-6 total shots that included 4-of-4 from long range, snagging a team high seven rebounds and blocking another three.
• Kaelem Haskins (Liverpool, N.Y.) posted 15 on his 6-for-7 effort in shooting, snagging six rebounds and assisting four, while collecting three steals.
• Jalyn Moorehead (Rochester, N.Y.) chipped in 13 as Avion Grainger (Syracuse, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring leaderboard for Morrisville with 11 points, three blocks and three steals.
