MORRISVLLE, N.Y. – Visiting Utica University scored three times in the fourth quarter to seal a 7-3 non-conference win over host SUNY Morrisville field hockey Tuesday afternoon on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• The SUNY Morrisville field hockey team allowed three fourth quarter scores Tuesday afternoon and were unable to recover as Utica claimed the 7-3 non-conference win on Drake Field in Morrisville.
• Utica claimed a 2-0 first quarter lead with strikes coming minutes apart late in the quarter, before Morrisville's Hayley Dawson (Papamoa, New Zealand) notched her first collegiate score off the assist from Lilly Bagg (Nineveh, N.Y.) to make it a 2-1 ball game with 12 minutes to go in the half.
• Utica added another tally with 1:08 remaining in the second, carrying the 3-1 lead into the break.
• A score from Melissa Beaver (Granville, N.Y.) at 35:50 cut the lead to one, but Utica posted two straight to regain the 5-2 lead.
• Beaver struck a second time at 48:15 for Morrisville, cutting the deficit to two early in the fourth, but the Pioneers scored two straight to put the game out of reach for the hosts.
• Bagg finished the contest with three assists for the Mustangs.
• Emmaly Noeller (Canastota, N.Y.) recorded the loss in cage, turning aside 13 in the defensive efforts.
