MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Host SUNY Morrisville picked up their second win in as many matches Friday evening, claiming the 3-1 match win over Thomas College on the Mustangs home court in Morrisville in the second of the days action.
Morrisville jumped out to a 25-20 set one victory before Thomas responded with a 25-20 set two score to even the match at one.
A dominating third set for the Mustangs gave the hosts the 2-1 set lead, before they edged Thomas in the fifth 26-24 to claim the match win.
Isabelle Eskierka (Amery, Wisc.) hit .360 across the match as she collected 25 kills, adding eight digs on the defensive side of the ball.
Samantha Siedlecki (Thorton, Colo.) registered nine for Morrisville, with another six coming off the swing of
Cassandra Bellmore (Windsor, N.Y.).
Bellmore also added 20 assists in the offensive play, while Keely Sherer (Haslet, Texas) recorded 24 to go along with five service aces and 10 digs.
Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) had 19 digs, also contributing three service aces and six assists in the match, while
Kylie Hutchinson (Liberty Hill, Texas) posted 10.
Morrisville outgained Thomas 52-28 in kills and 18-8 in service aces across the four-set match.
They return to the floor Saturday morning, hosting Geneva in the first of the second day's action of their own tournament.
