MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball completed the weekend sweep with a 3-1 match win over visiting Western New England, but not without a battle on the court that saw a second set reach nearly 40 points.
Morrisville opened with a 25-18 set one win, before both teams battled back and fourth in the second, coming to a 39-37 decision in favor of the Golden Bears to tie the match at one.
A 25-18 set three win saw Morrisville enter the fourth set, where they came from behind to post the 25-21 set win and match victory, wrapping up the battle that took over two hours to decide a winner.
Isabelle Eskierka (Amery, Wisc.) led all offensive leaders with 32 kills, with another 11 coming from
Cassandra Bellmore (Windsor, N.Y.) and five from
Samantha Siedlecki (Thorton, Colo.).
Bellmore served up three aces to add to the six from freshman
Keely Shearer (Haslet, Texas), who also registered 20 assists, one more than Bellmore who put up 19.
Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, N.Y.) added 12 assists to the offensive game, while leading the defense with 33 digs. Eskierka registered 16 digs and
Kylie Hutchinson (Liberty Hill, Texas) posted 11 in the win.
Morrisville returns to the court Friday at SUNY Brockport for a match against Hilbert.
