CORTLAND, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's track and field team competed at the Cortland Classic across two-days of action, at the Cortland Track and Field Complex in Cortland, making a push towards qualifying times for post-season.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• The SUNY Morrisville men's track and field team competed across two-days at the Cortland Classic, making a push towards qualifying times for the post-season at the Cortland Track and Field Complex, in Cortland.
• Morrisville had eight compete in the 100-meter race, including Thando Shezi (Johannesburg, South Africa), who posted a top time for the Mustangs with an 11.33 second race, finishing 25^th overall.
• Siyel Bowman (Bronx, N.Y.) posted a 31^st overall finish with a time of 11.39, followed by Jose Gilbert (Westbury, N.Y.) and Thomas Eison (St. Albans, N.Y.) with times of 11.52, finishing 34^th and 35^th, respectively.
• Kaleel Tobias (Rosedale, N.Y.) was 40^th overall with a time of 11.66 seconds, while Kareem Sanders (Schenectady, N.Y.) turned in a time of 11.97, finishing 64^th.
• Kieran Carter (Oswego, N.Y.) and Brandon Siedsma (Canastota, N.Y.) also competed, registering times of 12.15 and 13.72, respectively, in the field of 84 competitors.
• In the men's 200, Eison was the top finisher for the Mustangs with his time of 24.31, finishing 46^th overall, edging Sanders who posted a time of 25.01 to finish 53^rd overall among the field of 62.
• Bowman led the Mustang pack in the 400-meter run, crossing in 50.91 to earn the 14^th overall slot, while teammates Carter and Tobias finished with times of 54.45 and 55.70 to earn the 24^th and 25^th overall place finishes among 33.
• Morrisville had three competing in the men's 800-meter race, including Avion Harris (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) who turned in a time of 2:00.25 to earn a 13^th overall finish, edging teammate Michael Ventricelli (Massapequa, N.Y.) by tenths of a second.
• Ventricelli finished in 2:00.44, earning the 14^th overall place finish, while teammate Nasir King (Elmira, N.Y.) crossed seconds later with his time of 2:05.04, finishing 23^rd overall, respectively among the field of 47.
• Ventricelli and Harris also competed in the 1500 meter run, both posting top 10 finishes as Ventricelli claimed the sixth overall slot with a time of 4:10.72, and Harris 10^th overall with a time of 4:17.41.
• King also registered a time of 4:29.51, claiming the 23^rd overall position out of 35 racing.
• Ryan Wiese (Haddam, Conn.), Ethan Cossett (Oneida, N.Y.), and Brenden Bove (East Aurora, N.Y.) represented the Mustangs in the 5000-meter race, all turning in top 10 finishes.
• Wiese led the way with his time of 17:11.73, placing fifth overall and edging Cossett by three tenths of a second, who crossed sixth overall with a time of 17:12.09.
• Bove added a ninth place finish with this time of 18:17.99.
• Michael Fetzko (Earlville, N.Y.) competed for Morrisville in the 400 meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:08.81 for 13^th place, while Brenden Genei (Sherrill, N.Y.) was 15^th overall with a time of 1:20.08.
• Gilbert, Eison, Shezi and Bowman competed for the Mustangs in the 4x100 meter relay, finishing eighth overall with a time of 44.19 seconds in the closely matched field.

• Morrisville will participate at the Cardinal Classic hosted by St. John Fisher University on Saturday, a final regular season meet before the SUNYAC Outdoor Championships the following weekend.
