MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's ice hockey team hosted no. 8 ranked Nazareth University Friday night for their 2025-26 home opener, falling in non-league action by a 5-1 final score on their home ice in Morrisville.

• Host SUNY Morrisville women's hockey opened the 2025-26 home slate Friday night against no. 8 nationally ranked Nazareth University, falling by a 5-1 final score in Morrisville.
• The Mustangs held Nazareth to just one score in the opening period, before allowing two early on in the second to fall behind 3-0 after two periods of play.
• The visitors went ahead 4-0 before Morrisville's Scarlett Smith (Etobicoke, Ont.) flicked one past the Nazareth netminder 1:43 into the third.
• Avery Holland (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) was credited with the assist.
• Nazareth added one final score nearly 16 minutes into the final frame to seal the win.
• Sydney Canham (Rochester, N.Y.) recorded the loss between the pipes, turning aside 36 as Nazareth fired 41 shots on net.
