SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Visiting SUNY Morrisville men's ice hockey dropped a tight 3-2 decision in SUNYAC action Saturday afternoon on the road at Skidmore College, with both tallies coming from freshman Tanner Dietz (Mitchell, Ont.).

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Freshman forward Tanner Dietz (Mitchell, Ont.) scored twice to lead the visiting SUNY Morrisville Mustangs in SUNYAC road action at Skidmore College Saturday afternoon, but the host Thoroughbreds added a final tally midway through the third to capture the 3-2 league win in Saratoga Springs.
• Dietz put the Mustangs on the board 13:18 into the first with a tally off the feed from Tyler Zembryzycki (East Islip, N.Y.) for an early 1-0 Morrisville lead.
• Less than a second later, Skidmore would net their first of the day, a power play score to bring the contest even at one.
• Skidmore took the 2-1 lead 5:26 into the second period, but much like the first Dietz responded with a power play score to knot the game at two less than a minute later.
• Skidmore would net the go ahead tally 10:54 in the third, and Morrisville made a last minute effort with the extra skater in the closing minute, but the hosts were able to hold on for the win.
• Chad Lowe (Auburn, N.Y.) recorded the loss in net despite a 57 save effort that saw the freshman turn aside 20 in the third period.
