WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The SUNY Morrisville men's basketball team opened the 2025-26 season slate Saturday afternoon at the Williams College Purple and Gold Tip-Off Tournament, falling to the hosts by an 89-67 final score in Wiliamstown, Mass.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Visiting SUNY Morrisville men's basketball tipped off the 2025-26 season Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the Williams College Purple & Gold Tip-Off Tournament, falling to the hosts by a 89-67 final score.
• Morrisville trailed 34-26 at the halftime break and cut the deficit to five midway through the second half, but a 15-5 run by the Ephs set the Mustangs back 16 over the next three minutes, a deficit they were unable to overcome.
• Jacob Works (Liverpool, N.Y.) led the Mustang efforts with 16 points in the outing, adding five rebounds and collecting three steals, while freshman Bruce Wingate (Liverpool, N.Y.) netted 15 in his collegiate debut off the bench.
• Robert Wiggins (White Plains, Md.) chipped in eight to go along with four steals and four rebounds.
• Williams had four in double figures across the contest, including Jackson Rein who led the Ephs with 19 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double.
