MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its weekly award winners, naming SUNY Morrisville outside hitter
Isabella Eskierka (Amery, Wisc.) the Volleyball Player of the Week following her court performance across the week.
Eskierka assisted Morrisville to a 1-1 week in SUNYAC play, recording 46 kills, three aces, 14 digs and 10 total blocks across the weekend.
The sophomore led all attackers in the 3-2 match loss to Oswego, posting 27 kills (an average 5.4 per set), while hitting .235 from the floor. Defensively she added three blocks and 10 digs to her totals, averaging 2.0 digs per set, while racking up 5.9 points per set for the Mustangs in the five-set battle.
She followed with 19 kills (4.75 per set) in a 3-1 match win over Canton where she hit .275 from the floor, posted two aces and added seven blocks at the net to her totals across the weekend.
Altogether, she averaged 5.11 kills per set, hit .250 across two matches, and collected 54 points, an average of 6.0 per set.
