OSWEGO, N.Y. – Visiting SUNY Morrisville volleyball took the host Oswego State Lakers to five sets in a tightly contested SUNYAC battle but was unable to pull off the win as the hosts held the edge in the decisive set for the 3-2 match win in Oswego.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball took host Oswego State to five sets Friday night in SUNYAC action in Oswego, but fell short in the decisive set as the Lakers collected the 3-2 match win over the Mustangs.
Oswego narrowly escaped Morrisville in the opening set with a 26-24 victory, but the Mustangs evened the match at one with a 25-23 win in the second.
Oswego went back in front 2-1 in match play with a 25-23 edge in the third, but Morrisville forced a fifth set with a 25-18 win in set four.
In the fifth, the hosts held a late four point edge, but the Mustangs rallied to pull within one point, 12-11, but the Lakers were able to snag the win with two straight points before capitalizing on a misplayed ball for the match point.
Isabella Eskierka (Amery, Wisc.) led all outside hitters with a match high 27 kills, adding three blocks in the Mustang efforts.
Samantha Siedlecki (Thorton, Colo.) added eight from her middle hitter position, while Autumn Dailey (Smyrna, N.Y.) posted seven kills to go along with five blocks.
Keely Shearer (Haslet, Texas) put up 28 assists to go along with six service aces, with another three aces coming from Cassandra Bellmore (Windsor, N.Y.) who also added 23 assists and 10 digs to the Mustang efforts.
Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) led the defensive efforts with 32 digs, as Kylie Hutchinson (Liberty Hill, Texas) added another 15.
