ONEONTA, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville volleyball team took host SUNY Oneonta to five sets and extended play Saturday afternoon, claiming a thrilling 3-2 match win over the Red Dragons on their home court in Oneonta in SUNYAC play.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball took host SUNY Oneonta the distance Saturday afternoon, needing extra time to put away the Red Dragons for a 3-2 match win to pull their league record even in SUNYAC play.
• Morrisville, who claimed wins in the first and fourth sets, matched the Red Dragons point for point in the fifth, and after trailing 16-15, posted three straight points to take the match with a 18-16 victory in the decisive fifth set.
• Morrisville led 15-14 before Oneonta tied the contest with a kill from Colleen McCabe and then fell behind a point with an attacking error to trail 16-15.
• Morrisville evened the set at 16 with a kill from Isabella Eskierka (Amery, Wisc.), took the lead on an attacking error on the ensuing point, before Mary Trowbridge (Brookhaven, N.Y.) put the match away with her kill off the assist from Keely Shearer (Haslet, Texas) for the 18-16 set win and 3-2 match victory.
• Eskierka collected 18 kills to go along with 11 from Trowbridge to lead the Mustangs, with teammates Cassandra Bellmore (Windsor, N.Y.) adding 24 assists and Shearer 13.
• Defensively, Shearer and Eskierka each had 17 digs, adding another 16 to the defensive game from libero Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) as Morrisville held the slight 80-74 edge in digs.
• Autumn Dailey (Smyrna, N.Y.) blocked four at the net, with Bellmore adding another three.
