WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • SUNY Morrisville men's soccer collected their second straight victory Monday night, edging visiting SUNY ESF by a 2-1 final in the closing seconds of non-conference action in Morrisville.
  • The Mustangs maintained a 1-0 lead for nearly 80 minutes of the contest, putting their first tally on the board just 2:12 in.
  • Max Hall (Frankfort, N.Y.) sent the cross from the right wing towards the far post in the box, meeting a charging Toreed Adeyemi (Bronx, N.Y.) who was able to head the ball past the Mighty Oaks goalkeeper for the game's first tally of the night.
  • ESF was able to even the score at one in the 83rd minute after a handball in the box awarded the visitors the penalty kick.
  • Robbie Bettencourt placed the penalty in the lower right-hand side of the net past an extended Ronaldo Fatolou (New York, N.Y.) for the game tying goal.
  • ESF had two chances following their score to take over the lead, but Fatolou came up with two huge stops to shift momentum to the Mustangs.
  • Morrisville kept a persistent presence in their offensive end of the field over the final three minutes of regulation, and following an intentional foul by ESF, was awarded a free kick just outside the box with 17 seconds remaining on the clock.
  • The Mustangs loaded the box and Fatolou delivered a perfectly placed ball to the center of the eight, where Vakaba Cisse (Bronx, N.Y.) knocked in the loose ball for the go ahead score with 14 seconds to go, securing the win for the hosts.
  • Fatolou collected eight saves in the win for Morrisville, assisting the game winner.
