MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville field hockey team dropped a 5-2 decision Monday afternoon to the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Visiting Saint Joseph scored twice in the opening quarter of Monday afternoon's non-conference contest, downing host SUNY Morrisville by a 5-2 final score on Drake Field in Morrisville.
• The Blue Jays took an early 1-0 lead after a score 3:17 in, but Morrisville countered to even the contest at one as Mikaela Iza (West Babylon, N.Y.) tipped in the initial shot by Kylee Noyes (Castle Creek, N.Y.) on the corner play.
• Saint Joseph regained the lead just under a minute later and added two more in the second quarter to take the 4-1 lead at the break.
• Early in the third quarter Noyes put another on the board for the Mustangs, slamming in the short chip from Jazlyn Leet (Richford, N.Y.) for the score on the penalty corner opportunity.
• Saint Joseph added one final score to broaden the gap to three, earning the non-league win.
• Emmaly Noeller (Canastota, N.Y.) recorded the loss in cage, saving five.
