CLINTON, N.Y. – Visiting SUNY Morrisville volleyball picked up a 3-2 match win over Keuka College Friday evening at the Hamilton College tournament, staging a four-point comeback in the fifth set to earn the non-league victory in Clinton.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball staged a four-point comeback late in the fifth set Friday night, earning a 3-2 match win over Keuka College in Friday night's action at Hamilton College in Clinton.
• Morrisville led 2-0 in match play before Keuka stormed back to even the game and force a final decisive set with the Mustangs, holding a 9-5 lead midway through the fifth.
• But a kill from Kayci Olson (Cortland, N.Y.) followed by a second from Cassandra Bellmore (Windsor, N.Y.) rallied the Mustangs for a four-point service spread that also included an ace by server Kylie Hutchinson (Liberty Hill, Texas).
• An attack error by Keuka tied the set at nine, before the Wolves regained the one point lead on the ensuing service.
• Morrisville put together a three-point run that started with a kill from leading hitter Emily Huppee (Liberty Hill, Texas), before taking advantage of an attack error and blocking error on the part of Keuka to hold the slim 12-10 advantage.
• After a service error brought the Wolves within one, Huppee threw one to the floor to regain the two-point advantage for the Mustangs.
• Keuka pulled within one with a service error by Morrisville, but the Mustangs held match point after the Wolves hit the ball out.
• Huppee put the match away with an ace as Morrisville topped the Wolves in the final set 15-12 to earn the win.
• Olson finished with 10 kills, adding five digs to her totals, while Huppee added another 17 kills and nine digs.
• Huppee also served up three aces and had two assisted blocks at the net, alongside Autumn Dailey (Hamilton, N.Y.) who collected four total blocks to go along with six kills.
• Bellmore had 16 digs and 27 assists on the night, with fellow freshman Samantha Siedlecki (Thornton, Colo.) registering eight kills.
• Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) led the defensive efforts with 23 digs, Hutchinson adding another 11 in the win.

 
WHAT'S NEXT:
 

• Morrisville returns to the court tomorrow, facing St. Lawrence for a second time this season before seeing host Hamilton in the night cap. Opening serve against the Saints is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Hamilton College.
