MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville athletics announced the addition of Sophia Testani as assistant athletic trainer beginning in August.
Testani comes to Morrisville from clinical experiences as a student with Ithaca College, assisting with the field hockey, gymnastics, football and men's lacrosse programs as a student athletic trainer.
In May she received her Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training with a minor in Spanish from Ithaca College.
While a student at Ithaca, Testani served as an orientation mentor and coordinator for the new student transition programs, and was involved in several critically appraised topics, including
Depression after Sport-Related Concussion in Adolescent and Collegiate Athletes, a Partly Cloudy Forecast.
A member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association and New York Athletic Trainers' Association, Testani was a member of several academic honor societies during her time with the Bombers, also earning the Athletic Training Professional Excellence Award in May 2024.
Testani can be found on the sidelines with Mustang Football this fall season.
