Morrisville men wrap up regular season schedule with sixth straight win

COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Visiting SUNY Morrisville men's lacrosse wrapped up the regular season schedule Wednesday afternoon as they downed host SUNY Cobleskill 24-3 on the road at Cobleskill to post their sixth straight win and finish 2024 with a 7-1 league slate.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • The SUNY Morrisville men's lacrosse team collected their sixth straight win Wednesday night as they wrapped up the regular season with a 7-1 league record behind a dominating 24-3 win over Cobleskill in Cobleskill.
  • The Mustangs opened with four tallies in the first quarter before rifling nine into the back of the net in the second for a commanding 13-1 lead at the break.
  • Edging Cobleskill 4-2 in the third, the Mustangs powered past the Fighting Tigers adding seven more scores to their totals as they wrapped up the regular season with the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win.
  • Ten different Morrisville players recorded goals on the day, including Dante Patriarco (Cortland, N.Y.) who led the visitors with six.
  • Cade Moss (New Hartford, N.Y.) added five, while senior Zach Nestor (Manlius, N.Y.) posted four goals to go along with nine assists, netting the eventual game winner in the closing minute of the opening quarter.
  • Kyan Dohn (East Brunswick, N.J.) tallied two along with an assist, while Dean Mohammed posted two as well to go along with seven ground ball pickups.
  • Ben Cooter (Tully, N.Y.) led the Mustangs at the center x, winning 19-of-24 faceoffs, while picking up nine ground balls.
  • Gabe Mathews (Sharon, Conn.) and Blake Dunton (Middlesex, N.Y.) split time in net for the Mustangs, each appearing in 30 minutes of action.
  • Mathews posted the win with his seven saves, while Dunton finished with five stops.

  • Morrisville will wait for tournament seeding as announced by the league office tis weekend.
