  • The contest, moved due to field conditions, saw big bats out of the gates in the first of the double, as Morrisville posted the victory in five innings of play.
  • The Mustangs took a 4-0 lead at the bottom of the inning, before adding five more to their lead in the bottom of the second.
  • Morrisville added two more in the bottom of the third, racking up 11 total runs behind seven hits at the plate.
  • Callie Lafontaine (Chaumont, N.Y.) and Emery Sawitzki (Amsterdam, N.Y.) each recorded doubles, and Sophie Keehle (Conklin, N.Y.) a triple as Morrisville went a collective 7-for-20 from the plate.
  • Lafontaine was 1-for-1 with three runs scored, including the first of the contest in the bottom of the opening inning, while Keehle put together a 2-for-3 performance with three runs scored and two RBI's.
  • Sawitzki added a 1-for-2 effort with two RBI's and a run, while Jessica Budd (Fairport, N.Y.) added two hits in her three at bats to the Mustangs day, posting three RBI's.
  • Piper Kaylor (Montgomery, N.Y.) recorded the win on the mound, allowing just two hits while striking out three in four innings.
  • Isabella Gaskins (Binghamton, N.Y.) allowed one hit in the fifth, striking out one in three batters faced.
  • In the nightcap, Morrisville posted a total 16 hits as they rallied in the third and fourth innings for the come-from-behind six inning 16-8 win.
  • Canton took advantage of Mustang errors in the first and jumped out to a 6-0 advantage, but it wasn't until the bottom of the third, when Morrisville put numbers on the board, igniting the comeback.
  • A single up the middle by Lafontaine sparked the offensive effort by the Mustangs in the third, before advancing to third base on a single to right field by Keehle.
  • After loading the bases, Celeste Baldwin (Bainbridge, N.Y.) stepped to the plate with two outs and rifled a shot over the center field fence for the grand slam, cutting Cantons lead to two.
  • Three quick outs in the top of the fourth saw the Mustangs make their way back to the top of the lineup in the bottom of the inning, with Budd leading off with a single shot to center.
  • A double by Lafontaine scored pitch runner Molly Bobnick (Richfield Springs, N.Y.) while placing Sara Brefka (East Syracuse, N.Y.) in scoring position after reaching on base on balls.
  • Keehle batted in Brefka on the ensuing at bat, before Gaskins sent the grounder up center to score Lafontaine.
  • Baldwin then stepped to the plate and in similar fashion as the prior inning, shot her second home run of the contest over center fence, scoring Gaskins for the 9-6 Morrisville lead after four.
  • Canton got two back in the top of the fifth to make it a 9-8 ballgame in favor of the Mustangs, but again the Morrisville bats proved strong as they added four more to their totals for the 13-9 advantage.
  • Baldwin collected two more RBI's on her single to left, before Sawitzki added one of her own on her sac fly to left field.
  • Morrisville allowed just one hit in the top of the sixth before leading off with another single from Budd up the middle to place one on base.
  • After a dropped fly in center, Keehle shot one to left to score Budd, before Gaskins sent a second up middle to score Lafontaine.
  • Morrisville loaded bases with two straight walks, putting the final run across the plate on the second base on balls to earn the win.
  • Lafontaine went 4-for-5 from the plate, reaching home four times while recording two RBI's.
  • Keehle added a 3-for-5 effort with her two RBI's and three runs, while Gaskins added to the Mustang totals with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate for two RBI's and three runs scored.
