MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Host SUNY Morrisville men's hockey dropped a 4-1 SUNYAC decision Friday night to visiting Buffalo State College, opening league play on the young season in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host SUNY Morrisville men's ice hockey opened the SUNYAC slate Friday night on their home ice in Morrisville, falling to visiting Buffalo State College by a 4-1 final score.
• Both teams battled to a draw after the opening period of play, and was held scoreless until the 6:40 mark of the second when Buffalo State collected the first of three straight tallies.
• Connor Bizal notched the first tally for the Bengals, and Don Powell added a second six minutes later for the 2-0 visitor advantage.
• Buffalo State collected a third at the 14:59 mark of the period to open the contest to a 3-0 advantage after the second.
• Morrisville was able to get one back a mere 31 seconds into the third period as freshman Evan Miles (Chesapeake, Va.) collected his first collegiate tally, knocking in the dish from Logan Robins (Livonia, Mich.) to cut the deficit to two.
• Buffalo State regained the lead at 14:14 with a tally from Vadim Kiriakov, sealing the SUNYAC win.
• Marcus Cumberworth recorded the win in net, turning aside 20 for the Bengals.
• Will Goumas (Brampton, Ont.) recorded the loss with a 40-save effort between the pipes for the Mustangs.
