MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's ice hockey team allowed three first period goals as visiting SUNY Potsdam collected a 4-0 SUNYAC win Wednesday night in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• The SUNY Morrisville men's hockey team dropped a 4-0 SUNYAC decision to visiting Potsdam Wednesday night in Morrisville.
• Potsdam opened up a three-goal lead, capitalizing with two power play scores within four minutes time to set back the Mustangs after one.
• The Bears notched their first of the night a mere nine seconds in, one-timing the puck past the outstretched Ryan Creenan (Colonia, N.J.) in a two on one break off the opening faceoff.
• Potsdam added their first power play score of the night at the 14:26 mark before netting a second at 17:50 to expand their lead to 3-0 after the first.
• Neither team was able to put one on the board in the second, but the Mustangs pressured the Potsdam net in the third forcing Bears netminder Lenny Perno to make 14 stops to keep the hosts from scoring.
• Perno finished with 35 saves on the night for the shut out, while Creenan collected 19 in the loss.
• Morrisville held the 35-23 edge in shots on the night.
