Volleyball records fourth straight win, top Harrisburg 3-1

WILKES-BARRE, PA. – The SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team picked up their fourth straight win Saturday afternoon as they defeated Penn State Harrisburg 3-1 in match action at Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • The SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team completed the day's sweep of tri-match action at Kings College Saturday, defeating Penn St. Harrisburg 3-1 with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 20-25 and 25-19 in Wilkes-Barre.
  • Morrisville claimed wins in the first two sets, before falling behind in the third as Harrisburg made it a 2-1 match.
  • In the third, though, Morrisville utilized a five-point streak to open the margin to a nine-point differential, putting the match away as they claimed the 25-19 set victory.
  • Emily Huppee (Liberty Hill, Tex.) and Keelin Baker (Vestal, N.Y.) recorded double figures in kills, Huppee leading the way with 22 as she hit .350 from the floor.
  • Baker added 17 to go along with three blocks, while Huppee added 15 digs.
  • Hannah Taylor (Goshen, N.Y.) put up 46 assists, with Kathryn Dolan (Quincy, Calif.) and Kamryn Roher (Morrisville, N.Y.) served up three aces apiece.
  • Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) recorded 24 digs, along with another 16 from Kayci Olson (Cortland, N.Y.) who also posted three kills.
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
 
  • Morrisville returns to the court Tuesday, traveling to Oswego for a non-conference match before meeting Eastern Nazarene in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) showdown Friday on the Mustangs home court.
