ONEONTA, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville hunt seat equestrian team placed fifth overall in team standings Saturday at the IHSA Hartwick Competition in Oneonta, having four place in the top two of their respective classes, while two earned points to advance to the Regional Championships in March.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• SUNY Morrisville hunt seat equestrian placed fifth overall Saturday at the Hartwick College IHSA Competition in Oneonta, having four place in the top two in their respective riding classes on the day.
• Jenna Head (Hubbardsville, N.Y.) was the lone Mustang to take home a win, topping the competition in the novice division, while Emma Petricca (Blasdell, N.Y.) earned second in the same show class.
• Head, with the win in her class, advances to the Regional Championships.
• Molly Martin-Bauer (Victor, N.Y.) was second in the limit over fences class, while Julia Hathaway (Cazenovia, N.Y.) earned the second-place ride in the beginner class.
• Sarah Wood (DeRuyter, N.Y.) was third in the limit over fences class, advancing her to the intermediate over fences class and qualifying for regionals this season.
• To date, six Mustangs have qualified for the Regional Championships, scheduled for late March at Skidmore.

• Morrisville will host the next show within the Region, Saturday, March 4, at their indoor riding arena on Fearon Road in Morrisville. Show competition is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
