BUFFALO, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's ice hockey team dropped a 3-2 NEWHL decision to host Buffalo State College Friday night in Buffalo, falling to 3-10 in league play.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's hockey fell short in Friday night's NEWHL affair on the road in Buffalo, as the host Buffalo State Bengals picked up a 3-2 victory to bump the Mustangs to 3-10-0 in league play.
• Morrisville posted the first tally of the contest at the 6:12 mark as defenseman Madison Tomkins (Windsor, Ont.) slapped home the goal off the dish from Kendra Johnston (St. Albert, Alta.) and Alana McDonald (Potsdam, N.Y.).
• Less than a minute later the Bengals pulled the contest even with their first score of the evening, a power play goal at the 6:55 mark.
• After playing to a scoreless second period of action, both teams entered the final twenty knotted at one and at 8:45 the Bengals took the first lead of the contest with the go ahead score.
• Minutes later, Allie Davidson (Niagara Falls, Ont.) evened it up for the visitors with the unassisted power play score, but it was a strike 34 seconds later by the Bengals that proved to be the difference as the hosts collected the 3-2 win.
• Elizabeth Timby (Getzville, N.Y.) recorded 24 in the loss in net for Morrisville.
