Four first period scores lead Morrisville women to win

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville women's hockey scored four times in the opening period of Friday afternoon's NEWHL match against visiting Buffalo State College on their home ice in Morrisville, netting a 4-0 league win.

  • Host SUNY Morrisville women's hockey scored four in the opening period of Friday afternoon's NEWHL matchup with visiting Buffalo State College, collecting the 4-0 league win, their first of the season, on their home ice in Morrisville.
  • The Mustangs took an early 1-0 lead, netting their first of four just 1:13 into the contest as Pippy Pritchard (Saskatoon, Sask.) had the cleanup tip on the crease off the initial shot from Hailee Easson (Okotoks, Alta.).
  • Allicen Bouchard (Rockford, Ill.) gave the hosts the 2-0 lead with her power play tally, collecting the rebound as Easson and Kate Mabey (Guelph, Ont.) registered the assists.
  • Easson notched one of her own at the 15:31 mark for a 3-0 Mustang advantage with the tip from Madison Tomkins (Windsor, Ont.) and Lilly Trevors (Miramichi,, N.B.).
  • Rhys Brown (Kemptville, Ont.) posted one of her own for the 4-0 lead, juking the defense and backhanding the puck over the blocker of the Bengal netminder.
  • Allie Davidson (Niagara Falls, Ont.) registered the assist.
  • Maggie Jones (Marystown, N.L.) turned away 30 for her second shutout victory of the season.
