Mustangs defeat Poly in four

Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville Women's Volleyball improved to 4-1 on the season with a dominating 3-1 match win over visiting SUNY Poly on Wednesday evening.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • The Mustangs were led by sophomore, Emily Huppee (Liberty Hill, Tex.) who pounded down a whopping 13 kills at the net, and added five aces and four digs while hitting .524 from the floor.
  • Junior setter, Hannah Taylor (Goshen, NY) notched a team-high 16 assists and three service aces, white Brianna Gates (Eagle, Colo.) added five aces of her own to go along with eight digs.
  • Kayci Olsen (Cortland, NY) had a terrific outing for the hosts, recording seven kills at the net, hitting .33 from the floor.
  • Freshman, Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) continued to anchor down the defense for the Mustangs, collecting 17 digs on the day. The newcomer leads the team in digs (79) and digs per set (4.39) on the young season.
  • Siobhan Moore rounded out the stat sheet with ten assists.
  • The Mustangs closed out the win with 12 kills in the fourth set, where they hit .458 as a team.
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
  • The Mustangs hit the road for the first time this season on Friday, traveling to Saratoga, NY to play in a two-day tournament hosted by Skidmore College. Morrisville will face Union College in the opening round on Friday night at 7:00pm.
