MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville Women's Soccer team took to the pitch Thursday evening, hosting SUNY Cobleskill under the lights in their 2022 season opener. The Mustangs warded off a last second shot on goal to earn the 1-0 victory in their home opener. Senior forward,
Angelina Rinaldi (Huntington Station, NY) was the lone goal scorer in the win.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Mustangs controlled much of the first half offensively, totaling eight shots in the opening half of play. The Mustang defensive unit kept possession away from Cobleskill, protecting keeper, Meaghan Miller (West Irondequoit, NY) who didn't face a single shot in the first half.
- Rinaldi put the hosts on the board at the 57:14 mark, ripping a shot from 25 yards out that slipped through the hands of Cobleskill's Brianne Rogers. The goal marked the senior's eleventh career tally.
- Morrisville first-year, Ava Malin (Cold Brook, NY) had a chance to up the lead to two with just under 28 minutes to play, on a shot that grazed the cross bar.
- With less than 30 seconds left, Cobleskill played a ball into the penalty box, which deflected off several players and hit the post. Cobleskill's Julia Howard collected the rebound and took a last second shot on goal. Miller came up with a miraculous sliding save to give Morrisville the dramatic win.
- Mustang defender, Tiffany Dicenzo (Rochester, NY) led the Mustangs with ten shots, three of them on goal.
- Morrisville dominated the stat sheet, recording 18 total shots, with nine on goal, and holding a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
