  • Records: Keystone 3-2, Morrisville 0-3

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • SUNY Morrisville played through two scoreless innings against the home squad from Keystone College, but a four run bottom of the fifth found the Mustangs packing up as they fell by a 8-0 final score in five innings Thursday afternoon.
  • Morrisville collected three hits on the day, including a 1-for-1 performance from Tiana Terry (Liverpool, Pa.) and Jessica Burlew (Hopatcong, N.J.).
  • Shortstop Sophie Keehle (Conklin, N.Y.) also registered a hit, going 1-for-2 from the plate.
  • Kellina Murphy (Yonkers, N.Y.) threw the loss, allowing eight earned runs, while collecting two strike outs.
  • Both teams played to a scoreless two innings to start before a shot to right field scored the lone run for the Giants in the bottom of the third.
  • Morrisville was able to get one on base in the top of the fourth, but the Giants defense limited the Mustangs to just that and headed into the bottom of the fourth where they kicked off the scoring with a home run over the center field fence.
  • After placing one on base by balls, Keystone again shot another over the center field fence line, claiming the 4-0 lead behind their three run inning.
  • A single shot by Terry to left field advanced Burlew to second and after loading bases in an attempt to comeback, Keystone quickly posted three straight outs and headed into the bottom of the fifth.
  • Keystone loaded the bases and following a single to short, added another run to their lead, and followed with a sac hit to score another on the ensuing batter.
  • The Giants wrapped up the inning with a walk off single shot to left field, scoring their eighth of the inning for the 8-0 win.
