Morrisville dominates Lancaster to make trip back to United East final

Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team advanced to the United East championship final for the second time in as many seasons as they toppled fourth seeded Lancaster Bible College 3-0 in semifinal action in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • The top seeded SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team advanced to the United East Championship Tournament Friday evening as they dominated fourth seeded Lancaster Bible College in three sets for the match win on their home court in Morrisville.
  • Morrisville came from seven points down in the opening set to claim a 26-24 set win, carrying the momentum through to the second where they threw down a 25-16 set score for the 2-0 match lead.
  • The Mustangs rolled in the third for a 25-13 set victory to put the match away and advance to the title game where they will meet the winner of the semifinal match up between second seeded Gallaudet and third seed Penn St. Berks.
  • Keelin Baker (Vestal, N.Y.) led the Mustang hitting trio at the net, throwing down 12 while adding three blocks and eight digs to her totals.
  • Brianna Gates (Eagle, Colo.) added another 10 to go along with two service aces, collecting two assists and nine digs, while Mustangs outside hitter Emily Huppee (Liberty Hill, Tex.) added another 10.
  • Huppee also collected two aces in the win.
  • Siobhan Moore (Leyden, Mass.) put up 26 assists, with four coming from libero Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) who also posted 11 digs.
  • Morrisville, who claimed the regular season title for a third time in program history, is making their fifth straight trip to the championship final since the 2017 season.
  • The Mustangs claimed tournament titles in three of four tournaments.

  • Morrisville will meet the winner of Berks/Gallaudet in tomorrow's championship final at 2 p.m. on the Mustangs home court in Morrisville.
